【AI CUP 2026 Campus Tour】Driving ESG Innovation with Agentic AI at NKUST
The AI CUP 2026 ESG VeriPromise Campus Tour has officially arrived in Southern Taiwan! We were honored to invite Professor Min-Yuh Day, Director of the Graduate Institute of Information Management at National Taipei University, to National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST).
The event featured two in-depth sessions held at the iconic venues of the Department of Electrical Engineering. The sessions drew a large crowd of faculty and students passionate about AI technology and ESG issues, sparking vibrant discussions and showcasing the robust R&D energy of NKUST.
Keynote Highlight: The Evolution from RAG to Multi-Agent Systems
The keynote speech, titled " Agentic AI in Sustainable Promise Verification Innovative Applications: From RAG Architectures to Multi-Agent Systems, " provided a deep dive into the evolution of AI models.

Professor Day analyzed how standard Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks are evolving into highly autonomous and logical Multi-Agent Systems. Addressing the complex challenges of "verification" in ESG commitments, Agentic AI offers a more effective way to process heterogeneous data, ultimately providing a more transparent and objective verification mechanism for corporate sustainability reporting.

2026-03-13 AI × ESG Cross-Disciplinary Competition Enters Campuses: AI CUP Tour Courses Cultivate Sustainable Tech Talent
AI × ESG Cross-Disciplinary Competition Enters Campuses: AI CUP Tour Courses Cultivate Sustainable Tech Talent
As global enterprises increasingly prioritize sustainable development and transparency in information disclosure, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming a vital tool for analyzing corporate sustainability reports. Supported by the Ministry of Education's (MOE) AI CUP program, the "VeriPromiseESG 2026: ESG Sustainable Promise Verification Competition" campus tour held its Northern Taiwan session on March 6, 2026, at the Bo-Ai Campus of the University of Taipei. The event attracted nearly 50 students through both in-person and online participation, offering a deep dive into innovative AI applications within the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) domain.
The event was led by Professor Min-Yuh Day, Director of the Graduate Institute of Information Management at National Taipei University (NTPU), whose research team shared competition details and technical implementations. The session was hosted by Assistant Professor Ching-Tai Chen from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Taipei. Through competition introductions, dataset analysis, and sample code tutorials, the course helped students quickly master AI techniques for analyzing corporate sustainability texts and encouraged interdisciplinary teams to participate.
VeriPromiseESG 2026 is part of the MOE’s AI CUP series (Artificial Intelligence Competition and Annotating Data Collection Project), co-promoted by National Taipei University in collaboration with Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and the University of Tsukuba. The competition focuses on the cross-disciplinary application of AI × ESG × Natural Language Processing (NLP). Participants will utilize real-world corporate sustainability reports to develop AI models that determine whether a company's sustainability promises are backed by clear, verifiable evidence, thereby enhancing the readability, comparability, and credibility of ESG disclosures.
As the first stop of the tour, the Northern session featured "Comprehensive Code Instruction." Professor Min-Yuh Day opened the course by introducing the competition background and research philosophy, guiding students through the official website and the AIdea competition platform. He detailed the registration process, scoring mechanisms, and data usage regulations. Professor Day noted that ESG has become a critical indicator of corporate governance, and AI technology can significantly increase the efficiency and transparency of verifying massive amounts of textual data.
During the technical sharing segment, project assistant Hsin-Ting Lu introduced the sources and structural fields of the competition dataset, explaining potential analytical directions to help students understand data organization and feature analysis within sustainability reports. Subsequently, assistant Wen-Tse Chen demonstrated the use of the sample code, showcasing data pre-processing workflows, program architecture, and basic model construction methods, enabling beginners to grasp the necessary technical pipeline quickly.
"Analyzing corporate sustainability reports through AI not only builds students' capabilities in data science and artificial intelligence but also helps them understand the vital role of ESG in corporate governance and social development," said Professor Min-Yuh Day. "We hope this competition allows students to learn technology while reflecting on how science can address the challenges of sustainable development."
The organizing team stated that as AI technology and sustainable governance gain attention, the convergence of AI and ESG is forming a new frontier for cross-disciplinary research. Through the AI CUP competition and campus tours, they aim to provide a practice-oriented learning platform where students can accumulate AI project experience with real-world data and scenarios while deepening their understanding of corporate social responsibility and information transparency.
"AI CUP: VeriPromiseESG 2026" is now officially open for registration. The competition runs from March to July 2026, with a total prize pool of NT$250,000 and certificates awarded by the Ministry of Education. The organizers will continue to hold campus tours in Northern, Central, and Southern Taiwan. Students from all colleges and universities nationwide are welcome to register via the AI CUP platform.

2026-02-05 NTPU College of Business Partners with G-Jie Medical Technology to Set a New Benchmark for Industry-Academia Collaboration in Sustainable Finance
NTPU College of Business Partners with G-Jie Medical Technology to Set a New Benchmark for Industry-Academia Collaboration in Sustainable Finance

On February 4, 2026, the College of Business at National Taipei University (NTPU) and G-Jie Medical Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for industry-academic cooperation. This partnership aims to integrate business research expertise with AI medical imaging technology, focusing on innovation, value-based healthcare, insurance, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability. Together, both parties will promote a cross-disciplinary collaboration model characterized by quantifiable benefits and long-term impact.
Dean Chi-Rui Huang of the NTPU College of Business stated that this collaboration symbolizes a deep connection between academia and industry. It directly addresses critical challenges facing current insurance and healthcare systems—including medical inflation, information asymmetry, claims disputes, and the need for sustainable governance—establishing a vital benchmark for the development of smart healthcare and sustainable finance in Taiwan.
Dean Huang pointed out that the NTPU College of Business has long specialized in fields such as sustainable finance, ESG assessment, risk management, and business model innovation, emphasizing institutional designs that balance efficiency, fairness, and long-term stability. Meanwhile, G-Jie Medical Technology centers its expertise on AI 3D medical imaging, successfully transforming complex CT and MRI scans into intuitive, actionable, and quantifiable 3D models widely used in clinical settings, medical communication, and insurance scenarios.
Ji-Xin Sun, Chairman of G-Jie Medical Technology, noted that the company’s AI 3D medical imaging technology is one of the fastest-growing applications in the current AI healthcare sector. It assists hospitals in comprehensively improving precision diagnosis, preoperative planning, and doctor-patient communication efficiency. Through this industry-academic partnership, G-Jie aims to accelerate the deployment of its business models in Taiwan, ultimately benefiting patients, hospitals, and the financial insurance industry alike.
Dean Huang added that this collaboration combines business decision-making and institutional analysis with the practical implementation of medical technology. The goal is to explore the substantive value of AI within financial and medical systems and seek mutually beneficial possibilities for AI 3D technology providers, insured patients, hospitals, and the insurance sector.
Looking ahead, both parties will continue to promote scalable, practical collaboration models through research projects, empirical evidence, data analysis, and industrial pilots. The objective is not only to produce academic achievements but also to establish an industry paradigm capable of long-term operation, laying a solid foundation for Taiwan’s international competitiveness in sustainable finance and smart healthcare.
